CREATIVE PROCESS
Influences

Observation
Creative influences begin well before pen meets paper. They start with attentive observation - of everyday moments, human interactions, light, texture, and movement.
Photography and sketching are some of my tools for capturing these impressions; they reveal how space is inhabited and how light transforms environments over time.

These observations influence my design thinking, helping shape spaces that are not only functional, but uplifting and awe-inspiring - places that resonate with emotion and meaning.
Definition
Developing a brief starts with letting go of embedded preconceptions.
My process involves open dialogue with the client and stakeholders, zooming out to think about the context and future we are designing for.

I explore how each project can foster stronger connections - between occupants, communities, and the broader social context - seeking opportunities where design can go beyond functional needs to create lasting, meaningful impact.

Words help define and contain the essence and possibility of what the project will deliver.

This ensures that the true potential of a project is uncovered and recorded to guide all future decisions.
Exploration
Sketching facilitates thinking, questioning, problem-solving, and imagining new possibilities.
Through drawing and modelling, I test spatial relationships, uncover hidden patterns, and develop ideas that are guided by a desire to influence beyond the immediate task. Whether the resultant design enhances human relationships or enables cites to experience greater vitality the process enables clarity.
